Human and reptile blended into one life form, the Scales are perhaps the second most numerous of the folk populating the Midglass. Scales vary from environment to environment, some are amphibious while others have more in common with their Draken cousins.
They stand at nearly 6 feet tall, with slender or athletic builds. Male and female Scales are distinguished by various eye markings, ridges or fins, swelling chests, and coloration.
Splinter Race Feats: Exalted (Draconic Heritage), Wild (Jungle Clutch), Shimmering (Swamp Clutch). Unless you choose one of these, you’re a “River Scale.”
The Scale (Saurian)
Type: Medium biped folk with a Reach of 1. Your maximum wounds equal your constitution score.
Attributes- +2 dex, +2 any. -2 any
Cold blooded- The Scale often build large fires or sleep in groups to fight the north’s bitter cold. They require only 1 common meal per day, but suffer +1 damage per die from cold and are sickened for a number of rounds equal to 1/2 cold damage taken.
Natural Attack: Bite I Tail Slap I- The Scale have powerful jaws and thick tails. Perfect defensive weapons.
Inquisitive Mind- The Scale are the Hourglass’ premier explorers and scholars. Scale gain 2 additional interests.
Enlightened Resolve- Scale cuisine, sports, and games are prominent elements of Riverfolk culture. Their maximum Resolve rank increases to career level +5.
